Evermore Weddings and Events
Located just 30 minutes west of Ottawa, just outside the town of Almonte, Evermore is a beautifully restored barn that was once the childhood home of Dr. James Naismith, the creator of basketball. Sitting on 45 acres of beautiful, picturesque farmland, this outdoor/indoor wedding venue is sure to capture that rustic elegance feel that has been a growing trend in the wedding scene. Four elegant wedding areas are positioned closely, allowing guests to take in the sights and fresh air while you get unique shots with your photographer!
The Ceremony section with landscaped gardens overlooking the 45 acres of countryside provides a fantastic backdrop as you exchange your vows. An outdoor courtyard nestled between the restored barn buildings can seat up to 200 people for a dinner, or a just as inspiring cocktail hour during those beautiful summer days. The outdoor lounging areas have ample seating that is comfortable, and even positioned around fire pits. There is even a bocce ball pit to keep your guests entertained, or for some fantastic groomsmen pictures!
Why We Love It!
With catering and bar staff provided by Salt Dining Lounge, a local Ottawa restaurant, never have we had a meal or drink here that wasn’t ‘top notch’ quality. If you are a big fan of food, or want something better to drink than a rum and coke, then this is the venue you want! Not to mention Joel and Janice are both incredibly wonderful, professional people who take pride in their work and do everything in their power to make your day as unforgettable as it should be.
Just a short 20 minute drive north of downtown Ottawa, in Wakefield, Quebec, is one of the provinces most sought after wedding venues. Bookings for this venue need to be made at least 2 years in advance, but you will understand why when you drive all the way up the hill, make your way through the beautifully designed entrance with high ceilings through-out, and step onto their ceremony site overlooking acres upon acres of the breath taking Gatineau hills. In the fall, the colours come alive, and your photographer will likely have a field day (no pun intended) with you taking photos.
Le Belvedere is located right at the top of one of the many hills in and around the Gatineau park area, and the outdoor patios located around the building will give you and your guests breathtaking, panoramic views of the surrounding areas of Wakefield. With outdoor fire pits to keep you warm at night, it’s common for many guests to spend the entire night taking in the nature that surrounds them. Le Belvedere also has a state of the art JBL sound system already installed, as well as mood lighting in the ceiling alcoves, eliminating the need for your entertainment provider to bring in their own sound system. There is a guesthouse on site with three separate suites, included when you book! In addition, there is also the option to book an all-inclusive package at the Wakefield Grand for up to 20 people, including breakfast and a shuttle service to and from Le Belvedere.
Why We Love It!
Jessica and Kyle are some of the nicest people you will meet, and attention to detail is everything to them. This is evident from the first time meeting with either of them, that they truly care about the success of your big day. We don’t think Jessica sleeps or even sits down for that matter, as she is always five steps ahead coordinating with all vendors. The sound system is also fantastic! Quality of sound is huge to us, and it’s rare that we will use an in-house system without some hesitation, but their system is on-par with anything we use.
Located in Manotick, just a 20 minute drive south of downtown Ottawa, Orchard view has put much of their focus over the last 30 years on creating unforgettable weddings for their clients. With a large dining hall, stunning scenery surrounding the ceremony gazebo, and a scenic walking path that follows the edge of the lake around the grounds of Orchard View, you’ll no doubt feel as though this is a fairy tale wedding.
Orchard View has lots to offer. Whether it be the many different areas of the ground, such as the humbly constructed bridge, made with natural materials; the Lake that has been stocked with local fish, and can be skated on during winter months; or the lawn where many games and outdoor activities can be played. The main dining hall can be separated into 3 different areas, or combined for one large gathering, seating over 200 people. It has been beautifully designed, with a large window looking out over the grounds, where many times the head table will be placed. Spectacular chandeliers hang from the ceiling and certainly set the mood, creating an elegance that is reminiscent of an earlier time period of grand ballrooms. With an attentive staff and day of coordinator, Orchard View caters to some those who want that grand, upscale feel on their wedding day.
Why We Love It!
The staff at Orchard View are some of the most professional, attentive people for any venue. Vendors are many times forgotten to be fed, but at Orchard View they are always catering to every single person as if they are the VIP of the day. Of course the bridal party is top priority, but it’s good to know that your guests and vendors are also taken care of just as well as you. In addition, the dining hall has a modern feel to it and really complements our set ups.
This iconic Ottawa landmark has been host to many events and weddings over the last 100 years. Often referred to as the fourth building of Parliament, the historic Chateau Laurier is conveniently located downtown, steps away from all that Ottawa has to offer. The timelessness of the building and castle-like design makes this venue a grand place to hold your wedding.
The Chateau Laurier has multiple rooms to choose from, including the Grand Ballroom, capable of seating up to 600 people. You’ll no doubt feel like a king and queen in this early 1900’s building, with a wonderful serving staff, fantastic banquet managers, and diligent wedding coordinators. The original artwork and craftsmanship has been well maintained throughout the years, and as soon as you step through the front doors into the lobby, you’ll see exactly how this venue has captured so many peoples hearts. From the marble floors, to the pillars and arch ways each details has been kept in it’s original form. If you are expecting a large crowd, than the Chateau Laurier should definitely be on your list of places to check out.
Why We Love It!
There’s no denying the history of this building makes us feel as though we are becoming just a little part of it each time we perform here. The central location also makes it very easy to get to, and the loading dock enters directly into one of the main rooms, allowing easy access to get equipment in and out. Being an old building, they also provide power panels, meaning instead of plugging into multiple wall outlets, we draw from one source, really limiting the amount of cable runs and tape needed. This allows for some of the cleanest set ups ever, and gives you the confidence that the modern technology won’t draw away from the timelessness of the hotel.
The Shaw Centre
Another building that, in recent years, has become an icon in the downtown Ottawa area. Directly on Colonel By Drive, facing the Rideau Canal, this four-story convention centre offers a huge, panoramic view of Ottawa’s Parliament buildings and downtown core, as well as the famous Rideau Canal. With rooms that can host well over thousands of people, the Shaw Centre is a great choice if you’re expecting a large number of guests.
Of course, the glass bubble design on the front of the building makes it incredibly recognizable. In the summer months, you can expect to see a fantastic sunset over the nations capital as the evening moves on. With four floors to choose from, all with multiple rooms on each, the Shaw Centre and its staff cater to some of the largest events in the area. With such a large team of banquet staff, every detail is handled with the upmost care, and upon an initial meeting with one of the many event coordinators you’ll get a sense of professionalism and expertise that is likely not rivaled many other places. There is even an in-house audiovisual team that works in tandem with the venue to ensure that all of your vendors needs are taken care of. If you’re planning an event of 400 people or more, than this should certainly be on the list of places to visit.
Why We Love It:
The Shaw Centre offers one of the best views in the city, allowing everyone in attendance to take in the sites of the historic downtown buildings, while in the setting of something sleek and modern. The audio visual team always gets in touch with us months before an event we do to make sure any power or sound requirements we have are met, allowing us peace of mind knowing that no circuits will be blown and that are equipment will perform at it’s highest. This, in turn, will have you at ease knowing that your event will continue without any interruption.
